David's 12!

My David is 12!  We had a fun birthday with him, we went to a local waterpark in the afternoon than came home to eat Ramen soup (his choice) and had a birthday cake.  It is a big birthday for David because today during priesthood meeting, David got ordained to be a Deacon by Michael. Peter wanted to see, so I brought him along with us to watch David get ordained.  

It was very special. 

 We are very proud of David and love him very much!

We missed David while he was at Scout Camp, so when he was coming home on Saturday, we made a banner to Welcome him back home!  

We are very proud of David for completing his first time at camp away from home!

Cub Scout Peter

Peter is a Cub Scout now!

He is so excited about being in Cubs.

Peter attended his first den meeting today and had a great time.  
He is already working on his Physical Fitness belt loop with his den!

James' latest accomplishments

James is enjoying being 7 months old!  He is mastering so many skills.  He is a very speedy crawler, in fact, I had to go and look for him this morning.  He zipped out of the room while my back was turned!  James is pulling himself up to standing and doing a little furniture cruising. The older kids happily take him for laps around the house.  He is quite good at walking with support!   James is finally big enough to go in the bike trailer, so Mom is enjoying bike rides again with the kids!

Ice Cream

Well, the Clawson genes have held out true... James loves ice cream!  We discovered this Monday night when he ate my ice cream cone and I only got a few licks. 

Now he gets his own ice cream cone!

Burpcloths and Salad Sisters!

Our friends Liz and Matt, are having TWINS!  We are very excited for them.  So for our baby shower present, the kids stamped burpcloths!  They all had a fun time and all the kids designed their own.

For Girls Camp this year, the girls had to make up a skit to go along with the song "Sister, Sister" from the movie White Christmas. So Carina and her tent mates are the "Salad Sisters"  

They are cucumber, tomato, carrots, celery and onion.  

Annie, Jared, and Kathleen helped practice!  Annie made up a vegetable machine!

Backyard beauties

I have not been able to keep up with my vegetable garden for a few years, and my flower garden is currently non-existent also.  So I decided to let the vegetable garden go back to grass.  So Michael pulled up all the border bricks and stacked them up on the driveway.  Than we mowed the weeds down and the result was a lovely nice open space in our backyard.  

I must admit that I really like it.  I don't feel as guilty about not having a garden when it is not defined with bricks!  I love the feeling of openness that we have now in the backyard.   Our forest friends are also enjoying the backyard also.  We took a few pictures of some of the various signs of nature that you can see in our backyard on a regular basis!   

Bird... I know, I'm so specific!  Can you tell me?
