This is Emma in her cute outfit she got after she was born.  She was only able to wear it once before it got too hot to wear!  Ah.. the joys of living in Georgia!

snakes!

Snakes... lots of snakes this spring.  Here are a few pictures we captured of snakes in our yard.  I didn't get a picture of the one that fell out of the tree 2 feet away from me.  To my credit... I didn't even scream.  I just hollered for David to get the camera.  Unfortunately for me, he slithered away too quickly to get a picture of.

Water bottle transportation system

We did our annual water changing for our food storage.  My creative sons, David and Peter devised this method of transporting the water bottles through the garage.  It was great fun...

Boxes

Once upon a time there was a lowly box...  

It had a happy existence, quiet and sedate... 

Than one day... there was a big commotion in the box's life. 

It was transformed!  Through the magic of scissors and tape, it became...

Buzz Lightyear wings!

Than on another day... another box joined the joyous transformation

Jared is 5!

My Jared is 5 today!
He is a delight in our lives.
We enjoy his smile and watching him develop into the wonderful boy that he is!

Quilted diaper bag

My project this last 2 weeks was for Kathleen and I to quilt and make this diaper bag! I designed it so it has everything I need in it pocketwise.
I love the colors and think it is really cute!

Raft!

Peter and David built this lovely raft to fulfill a requirement that Peter had to write a report about how to build a raft! It was lots of fun and they enjoyed dragging it into the swamp to float. It sank nicely and they came back covered in mud... but hey, the building was the fun part!

I am now out of duct tape...

Scouting 100th Anniversary!

February is the 100th anniversary of Scouting. We participated in a number of scouting celebrations that month. The first was the tree planting on February 8th, the official anniversary date. Our pack and troop were part of the honor guard for the flag ceremony.

Our next big event was our annual blue and gold banquet. We got this cool cake made with the centennial patch on it. It was very yummy!

The favorite event of all!
The boys had built catapults at den meetings and they fired off candy into the audience.
The kids loved it!

Our pinewood derby was held in March! Peter and Michael built this cool car.

from breaking his elbow 3 weeks earlier rollerblading!)

One almost spring day

We had a beautiful day today.
It was high 60's!
We've been so cold that we are excited to have some spring like weather!
The kids went outside to play and Carina got this video of them. I love it!
